A great matching set of Victorian pewter tankards. They were made by S.J Lemon (impressed mark inside each tankard), who was a pewterer in Chatham, Kent from 1865-1904. The tankards were made for 'Two Brothers, Chatham' (marked on base of each tankard)which must have been a pub at the time. The tankards bear marks applied by the local weights and measures inspector, consisting of VR 354, whcih was the mark for Kent between 1879 and 1901. Two say Quart, and the other four say Pint. Each tankard has the initials WG on the front, which would have been the landlord. They are in good condition overall, with a few dents here and there as you would expect with 100 years plus of use.
