A child's country style chair which would also be good for displaying a teddy or doll. Dating to the late 19th century, it has some lovely signs of wear to the seat and front of the legs. It was probably made in France, since it is a mixture of Horse chestnut and Ash wood. There is some historic woodworm to the back footrail. Also the lower back rail, which would be a thin dowel-type rail is missing. This does not detract from this characterful piece.
