Silver dressing table jar, Birmingham 1900

An attractive solid silver dressing table jar, hallmarked London 1900-1901, maker HM (Henry Matthews). The jar has an all over hammered effect. There is a smooth area to the lid where a monogram has been removed. The interior of the jar is gilded. Weight 177.2g


Small 18th Century Oak Dresser Base

This wonderful oak dresser base would fit in to any home. With its lovely colour and patina it is in excellent condition. Dating from Circa 1780. Measurements Width 56,3/4" (1440mm) height 29" (755mm) Depth 14,1/4" (362mm)


Oak coal box with patented opening

Now the nights are drawing in, this late 19th century Victorian oak coal box could be useful. The coal box is unusual in that it has a patent mechanism for opening the pair of oak doors at the front. You push the handle on the top backwards, and that levers open the doors at the front. The box has a pair of panel doors, a turned oak handle with brass attachments, a metal liner and an original shovel which is held in a bracket at the back. The box is in working condition, although it has been quite well used, and the shovel does show some wear to the blade from use.


Pair glass and EPNS salts, trefoil shape

A pretty pair of salts. These EPNS holders are in the shape of a trefoil with ivy leaf edging. The liners are coloured pressed glass. The salts date the the 1920s/30s. Good overall condition, although the plate is a little worn

Swedish gilt wood cartel clock

A pretty gilt wood Swedish cartel clock, the water gilded decorative wooden case with floral, bow and ribbon decoration in very good condition. The good reliable German movement strikes the hour and the half hour. The convex cream 6 inch dial is signed for the retailer H. Runsten, Stockholm, with black Arabic numerals and minutes. The pendulum is mirrored from behind. Intricate pierced gilt hands.

A black and white engraving of Lord Kenyon. It is in a period ribbed ebonised wood frame with gilt slip. The text under the engraving reads: ' Sir Lord Kenyon Bart, Late master of the Roll, now chief justice of the court of King's bench, created Lord Kenyon Baron of Gredington. June 1788. printed by J.Spiel, published May 1789

Georgian framed engraving, Right Hon. Henry Dundas

A framed Georgian engraving of the Right Honourable Henry Dundas. The frame is period to the engraving, in ribbed ebonised wood with a gilt slip. The engraving has suffered some creasing to the lower part, and foxing. The lower part of the engraving reads 'The right Hon. Henry Dundas. One of his Majesty's principle secretaries of state, treasurer of the navy, president of the board of commissioners for India & MP for the City of Edinburgh. Painted by Geo. Rowney Esq, engraved by Ini Young, engraver in mezzotinto to His royal highness the prince of Wales. London June 4th 1798'. slight chips to the frame as expected with a frame of this age.

Oriental Teracotta lamp

This lamp was made in the 1920s using a 19th century oriental teracotta figure which stands on a gilded turned wood plinth at the front of the lamp.
